Today, October 13, "Riga Sharks" U16 water polo players became the winners of the Lithuanian youth water polo championship. In the final game against the leaders of the tournament table, "Elektrenai", the Riga sharks won in the last quarter with the result 9:11. Before the last round of the tournament, the "Riga Sharks" team was in 3rd place in the six-team competition.

"The development of the team requires competition and the fact that we play in the championships of the neighboring country is a huge contribution of the Lithuanian Water Polo Federation to the development of water polo in Latvia. It is an extremely valuable gesture of friendship, for which we are truly grateful," says "Riga Sharks" coach Aleksandrs Mihailovs.

The Latvian water polo coach regards this achievement as historic, as it is the first victory in fierce competition in a serious tournament. He thanks all the coaches from the bottom of his heart and congratulates the athletes, their parents and all water polo fans, because something incredible has been accomplished.

The Latvian water polo team "Riga Sharks" participates in the Lithuanian championships in all age groups.
